Dear Mrs. Hopkins…

Dear Mrs. Hopkins,

“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”  Shakespeare

It’s taken me a week to think about how I feel about your “snobbish attitude” on the This Morning show. At first I was horrified and astonished. Horrified that you are so narrow minded and astonished that you spoke the way you did on national television!! Then I pondered on it some more and I thought well hats off to you for being brave enough to come out with such snobbery on National television. I mean that takes guts, to have that many people despise you and be okay with it.

When I got over that I re-watched it and I was actually quite amused. I feel like it’s more about race than name but you don’t want to be called racist and so you’d rather be called a class’ist (yes I made that word up!) But what really amused me was the hypocrisy of it all. You say you don’t like location names like Brooklyn or London but your daughter is called India. Your other daughter is Poppy (a flower) and your son is Max (my best friends dog was called Max). Although I also know some lovely people called Max. My point is, your statements don’t even stand true in your own family. And Katie, Should I compare you to Katie Price, a.k.a. Jordan? Her children with Peter Andre are called Junior Savva Andreas Andre and Princess Tiaamii  Crystal Esther Andre. Shock Horror!

Perhaps rather than judging innocent children by the names they haven’t even chosen for themselves, you should spend time with your kids educating them about being good people, working hard, being respectful to all those they meet, no matter if they have rich parents or are from council flats. But hopefully since you work so very hard and believe women should go back to the work place as soon as possible post partum, your kids will be better educated with their nannies and the posh schools you send them to.

  2. She’ll literally just say anything at all, however ridiculous or hypocritical, just to get herself attention, won’t she? Or maybe she doesn’t know India is a place?? #wineandboobs

  3. Oh dear, I heard about this when it happened and it makes me glad we aren’t living in the UK any more….I mean seriously, how has this woman been given a voice, a platform where she can spread her vile (and frankly ridiculous) rubbish!?
    Popping over from #wineandboobs

    • Ohh gosh she’s gone on to say worse after this but I thought blogging about her would only be giving her exactly what she wants….attention! Thanks for reading and commenting xx

  4. My husband just told me that he quite like Katie Hopkins……I nearly started a big fight with him until I realised he was joking…..phew – that was probably a marriage ender! #wineandboobs

  5. Right from the time she first appeared on The Apprentice, Katie Hopkins has always courted controversy. Now she’s just talking click-bait, spouting the most objectionable rubbish just to provoke a reaction. She’s best ignored to starve her of the oxygen of publicity she craves – and the perfect example that just because someone has appeared in the media doesn’t mean they have anything worthwhile to say.

    • I totally agree! I got mad about this incident then decided never to blog about her again because that was the publicity she craved ( not me per say but people writing about her haha) x
